The study explores brain activity in both partners to better understand secondary traumatic stress.

Active/Veteran CAF or RCMP with trauma exposure (with or without PTSD diagnosis).

18–70 years old.

Comfortable using electronic devices.

CLINICAL ASSESSMENT

A virtual, individual session with a member of our research team.

ONLINE QUESTIONNAIRES

Completed individually, at your own pace, from home.

SCANNING SESSIONS

In person at The Royal Ottawa/uOttawa IMHR, including an EEG scan together with your partner and/or an fMRI scan on your own.

INTERVIEW

A conversation with our team, held individually, either virtually or in person.

Comfortable communicating in English.

Living in Ottawa, ON or surrounding area.

Currently have a civilian partner*.

*A partner is someone you regularly contact and have an emotional romantic connection with.
